I use Excel Polyurethane Glue for all my scarfing needs-- and fixing
fractures, etc. I built a 28' kayak out of 10' and shorter boards using
this glue, and have never seen a failure. I also used it to re-assemble a
kayak that was sawn-up (with a long-blade Japanese Saw; shallow-angled cuts
to maximize glue area) for shipment to the Arctic. This worked very well,
though the kayak went back together noticeably slower than a Klepper would.
Polys are much simpler than 'Poxies, and they are very easy to use with
superb results.
