Wood that dense would have good fastener holding power, it probably has
fairly good rot resistance, it would be very good for rub strips, or on an
external keel or gunwales to protect from wear, and perhaps to carve into
deck hardware (cleats and things).
You would have to test for strength, density tell you nothing about
strength. For example, oak and maple weigh about a third more than
Doug-fir but DF is stronger. Weight does not determine strength, and your
sample actually weighs about three times more than cedar, about double DF
and Southern Pine.

Subject: baidarka Apple wood
I have just chopped down a few apple trees. Some of the branches had some
nice
bends that looked like a possible material for deck beams. Hence, I have
tried
to rip some planks from some of the trunk and branches. What surprised me
most
was the density and weight of the wood. Actually, I made one bit exactly
100
dl in volume and weighted it to find it's spesific weight. On my rough
scale,
it said a little bit more than 100 g. Those people fluent in the metric
system
would have figured out by now that this mean it would sink if placed in
water,
and indeed it did, to the bottom.
In other words, apple wood seems to be incredible heavy, even though I
guess
it would be a lot better when it is dry (wich I guess will take a long
time).
Anyway at least twice as heavy as cedar. I'd like to know if other people
on
the list has experince with apple wood, what I can expect about usability
of
the wood, the strength of the wood, can I reduce the dimensions of the
beams
to compensate for the high spesific weigth and so on.
