The heavy nylon and polyester stuff that a lot of people are using to skin
their boats is used as filter fabric in indusrtial operations. If you
look for distributors or fabricators of filters, pollution control
devices, etc. in an industrial directory, you may be able to obtain the
fabric.
Otherwise, I'm sure that the amount for a boat (6 yards?) could be
shipped parcel post, if you are willing to wait for the less expensive sea
route.
