of course. Ive already done some of that, on the seams for one. I didnt
like the way the seam overlap was laying so I steamed them out a bit. I
also did some steam-ironing near the bow and stern, to take up a little
slack. But I've always been wary of the "too tight" syndrome, since its
basically irreversible. I built the frame members as light as possible (it
weighs only 25lb with skin), and at the time, I planned to use canvas. I
think I will try the advice of cooling it down a little, then shrinking it
some but not too much. If I dont and it slackens up later as much as it
does now in cool temps, that will be unacceptable. I'm still frightened by
the prospect though.
