Gina,

Couldn't agree more, but my boat now has a permanent hollow spot from the
straps (it's strapped on top of my truck most of the time during the
Summer). I've been considering alternate methods of securing it, like
stuffing it in a bag and strapping the bag down or tying down the deck
straps rather than the boat, but haven't come up with anything quick and
simple yet.
