I know I can easily rig a
backrest of some type, but I'm wondering if this is normal? Or should I
make future cockpits smaller?(not sure if I could get in if I did!)>>>

           What works for me is a Surf to Summit sit on top
seat....(generally sit on top dealers like Oceankayak have these in
stock), otherwise, you can order from them...
      surftosummit.com

           I even use 'em for a kite buggy, when flexifoil's stock seats
are a poor fit.
