Hi Doug,
Got the pic, looks great. How difficult is it to use the Holsclaw bender? I
redrew a North Alaska Retrieval Kayak (testing some cad software) using
aluminum tubes, but was thinking of doing the ribs in wood.
I drew the boat using the same amount of longitudinals, (keel, 3 chines,
gunnel, and sheer) for a total of 11 lengthwise pieces but in 1/2 inch tubes
with an id of .049 as per Dysons book. I know Feathercraft uses 3/4 inch on
their K-Lights, but I would rather use more pieces for a truer
representation of the boat. Does this sound doable? I don't know how
flexible aluminum tubes are, since the boat is so short (about 9' 6", at 25
inches wide), I don't think they will curve in too sharply at the ends, so I
may redraw the ends differently.
Thanks,
Paul
