I've been going through the Byzantine process of converting from e-groups to
Yahoo - what fun. One interesting thing cropped up with regard to my getting
a Yahoo ID number. I tried a pretty obscure term and received a message that
the term was already in use, I tried again with a more obscure term and was
told that that one was also in use. I thought that was weird so I pulled out
an obscure text on the Yokuts indians of California's San Joaquin valley
tried some really obscure and almost impossible to spell tribe names. Guess
what, the first two were already in use. Finally, on the fifth try Yahoo
said OK. After each of the previous four tries Yahoo offered the word I
suggested plus a couple of numbers, usually the year, as a suggested ID. I
think it is almost impossible that those names were already taken. Has
anyone else had this experience. I have a funny feeling that Yahoo is some
how using the terms - call me paranoid.
