Gee the list has gotten quiet...is everyone out paddling ?
But seriously, I have been thinking about the problem of carving a paddle with
feathered blades. There are other paddle styles that have oval shaped blades,
some with and without feathering, that I thought about trying.
It would be easy to carve the blades and say half of the loom, but putting them
together in a strong an reliable way would be a trick. I had the thought to
carve the paddle normally then steam bend/twist the loom to achieve the 90 degree
feather: One piece, the grain would be correct for each side of the paddle, and
no need for laminating.
Has anyone else made an attempt at this kind of paddle?
thanks,
