I am finally gearing up to build a couple of kayaks. Mine is
likely to be a Greenland style, though with so many options
out there, almost all of which I lust after, it's tough to make
a firm decision.

My wife's... that's where I could use some help. She has
had a remarkable number of severe eye problems over her
life, and even before the detached retina was forbidden to
participate in exercises or sports that required large, vigorous
motions in the upper body and shoulders. Her ophthalmologist
specifically mentioned paddling, and that was most of 30 years
ago, before it got popular. So that means her kayak gets a
small electric motor. I know some folks have done internal
motor set-ups, especially on plywood 'yaks, but we will probably
stick to an outboard, so that the boat can be used without it
if someone else wants to borrow it.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a kayak style that
would lend itself to adding an outboard? Or any other thoughts
that might be helpful? Thus far, my only concrete notion is that
a modified baidarka stern might lend itself uncommonly well
to carrying the motor.

Many thanks.
