John,

I made my sprayskirt by sewing it from a pseudo-goretex (ultratex). I
sewed a piece of the shock cord used for decking lines into the bottom and
a much finer strand around the chest. There are only two seams, but you
need to use a sewing machine or the seams will leak. Look at a
commercially made skirt for the basic seams. Be sure to leave extra
material for a full range of motion. I found that my boat is almost
completely waterproof when I roll it with this skirt.

After shipping and handling I bought three or four yards for 25 dollars.
They also carry all the other types of outdoor fabrics for other projects.

does any one know where i can get spray covers for round holes (20") i need
two of them for my baidarka which i am building. or does anyone know how to
make them so i can make them myself??? thanks for your help.

also, am still looking for people interested in a all skin boat club. i
live
in the seattle area, but all skin boat owners are welcome so we can branch
off
of this one, if i can ever get it going. am i the only one with a skin boat
in
