Before you rip the skin off you might want to try this: line up two or three
saw horses end to end, place the boat on top, then - using nylon web straps
with ratcheting buckles - compress the boat against the saw horses. I was
able to flatten the hull of my skinboat somewhat, though the skin tends to
fight any changes. With the skin removed this method might be more
successful, especially if combined with some sort of softening of the ribs
via hot water or steam.
