I am considering whether to only round over the outside of my hull

would move around less and distribute stress better if they were left flat

I think it is a good idea, that's what I do, there is a lot of friction and
wear at these points, and it saves a lot of router table time.
On my last one I also cut out small squares of 3mm neoprene wet suit
material (from some scraps I have laying around) to put in the joint to avoid
this rubbing problem between the wood members. My other thought was it would
make the frame a little more flexible, though by the time it wall lashed up it
was hard to tell the difference. On the next one I will not lash them so
tight and see what happens.
Of course I am not the most experienced with this, I am "only" working on my
5th one in the last year and a half. And comparisons are a bit difficult
since I keep experimenting with different ideas with each one I build. I
already have in mind what I will try on the sixth and seventh ones, all will
get the neoprene gaskets in the joints between the ribs and flat sided
stringers BTW.
