I would expect that adding a skeg to an otherwise neutral boat will cause it to leecock, a less than desireable condition. A skeg is also likely to increase the tendency to broach in following seas, as it gives the waves more purchase on the stern, allowing them to swing it around more rapidly. At least, this is my experience from paddling a YouKnowWhatKapp HM.
