I have used WRC and liked it for its light weight.
Nothing as pleasing as a light weight paddle. Ice is
hard on soft wood however.
I have broken a lot of paddles but never while
paddling. Breaks have always ocurred when the paddle
was in contact with solid ground, for instance while
surfing in shallow water or getting in or out of the
boat. After a while I found a comfortable balance
between light weight and won't break the first time I
brace into sand.
