I've been paddling my kayak a few times this summer
and each time my legs have gone to "sleep" which is a
bit disconcerting and annoying. I started off with a
double layer of 1/2" foam pads on the floorboards,
after the first couple of times out I cut a couple of
relief holes in the top layer where my "sit bones"
contact the foam, after that didn't work I padded the
area where my heels rest on the floorboards (no help)
now I've added a couple more layers of foam to the
seat area (more in the front than the rear) to cant
the seat, it's plusher now but the center of gravity
is quickly rising. I'm going for a quick paddle in a
bit and am going to take extra foam to see if thigh
support helps. Anybody in baidarka land have similar
experiences? possible solutions? As soon as I can
solve this problem I'm going to sell the roto-pig to
finance the next SOF boat but for now it's the only
way I can be on the water for more than 20min. without
losing my legs. Rob
