You can probably use any of them in a pinch, although I dont know if any
are particularly "good" for the job. My tree book shows several species
of willow for So. Ca.

Red Willow. This is a tree, 20-50 feet high
Pacific Willow (might not come south all the way)
Arroyo willow. This one sounds promising. Its a shrub or small tree up to
30 feet. Call a local forestor at the closest National or state Forest or
BLM, or a botanist at the University. They should be able to tell you
where to find some.
