Hi,

I am pretty new to this list. I hope someone has some advice for my
problem. I own a Klepper Aerius that I originally bought in the '60s and
just recently sprung for a new hull and new sails. I discovered that I need
flotation bags when I capsized the sail rig on Lake Washington last summer.
After the boat was swamped I could not get the gunwales high enough to bail
and had to be ignominiously towed to shore. So now I would like to get some
flotation bags, but I can't seem to justify the high cost of authentic
Klepper gear. Can anyone suggest inexpensive alternatives for flotation
fore and aft? I would be willing to make bags and I am fairly handy with a
sewing machine.
