Robert Morris shows in his book "Building Skin-On-Frame Boats" a steam
generator on page 105. This consists of a sideways "T", with supply water
coming in from bottom (from a bucket of water next to it at the same level),
output on top, and a 250 watt heating element screwed into the pipe from the
side. Is this heating element a specialty item, or something available at
plumbing supply houses? Searching on the net, I think its called a "screw
plug immersion heater", which sounds expensive.

Of course there is always a Coleman stove, but his generator looked so well
executed.

As an aside, while searching for wood for steam bending I came across this
"Your Celtic Birthday Tree", which looks like something somebody made up,
but rather cute. My wife felt compelled to see what tree all are relatives
are! It's all over the net, but the first time I've seen it, here's a decent
page with no midis

Enjoy,
Paul
