do not bother with canvas, nylon or polyester fabric (about 9 oz/sq. yd)
cost the same and is more durable. George Dyson Biadarka and Company in
Bellingham, WA is the best price and sources. He also has the polyester
artificial sinew for lashing (do not use the nylon type). He also has
appropriate needles and other such tools at good prices. You can phone or
fax your order, or better yet take the drive and pick them up in person, and
take a look at all the various kayaks at various stages of construction in
his shop.
If you need his number I can dig it out for you, just post again.
