Well, Jamie,
I built it in Northern Quebec and there were not too many options back then
and in that area. The skin was done in two parts as I couldn't find
materials with enough width to do the job. The skin was glued.
I still use canvas but am going to Anacortes Island to see Corey and to
check out some of his skin material.
I've got three baidarkas on the go in my shop right now. They are all
covered with canvas and I'm trying polyurethane floor paint this time. I
like the translucent appearance on the baidarkas when this is used.
