Hi Pasi,
I was thinking of using diagonal bracing from the hull to the aka on mine,
like on the Gilbert Island canoe shown here:

I think using the aka as a structural unit to prevent hull twist would be
the lightest.
Canoes of Oceania also show another curved beam on top of the diagonals
which looks like it opposes the bend of the weather side of the hull.
The Gilbert Island canoes are sewn plank on frames, so I think these are the
closest to a skin boat we can copy.
