[baidarka] keelstrip

My boat is painted with the supposedly super durable very expensive two part
polyurethane. the manufacturer of the polyurethane claims nothing will stick
to it except 3M5200 caulking or more polyurethane. Has anyone trowled on
5200 onto a keel and used it alone as rub strip? I am afraid if I first glue
on webbing with 5200 and then paint the webbing with polyurethane that the
polyurethane will kill the 5200. The other option is sew the webbing on
with monofilament (at least around the bow), paint/glue with polyurethane
and then remove the monofilament.

- in the works, a short(7'ish) flat bottomed planing hull, hard edged,
squirty S.O.F. surf kayak in the works, you might call it a retrieval
kayak.
