Hi Sam,

The designs to look at are the old Percy Blandford PBK kayaks.

The plans are available at very modest cost from

The one nearest to your specification is the PBK18 - a very roomy two-seater
17 foot long by 32" beam. Plans cost about 12 pounds sterling.

The PBK19 is a folding version of the same boat, but a LOT more work to
build. Plans can be had for about the same cost.

Construction is ply frames and spruce or ash stringers, gun'ls and keelson.
Covering specified is canvas, with the top and bottom being tacked around
the gun'ls and a rubbing strip being nailed on top to hide the tacks.

By the way, I'm have no association with the company, but have purchased two
of their plans and built boats from them. I was very happy with the
results.
