Ok, help me. I was looking at the lines on David Zimmerly's site for the
Nunamiut and the Hooper Bay kayaks. Why (according to the numbers) is the
Nunamiut boat more stable than the Hooper Bay (unstable at 51deg as opposed
to
45). The Hooper Bay is much wider (30.1" to 23.5") and the depths to sheer
are only .1" different. Both of the hulls have a non rockered, rounded
chine
shape. Does the extra 3 feet on the Nunamiut count for so much? I'm trying
to understand the numbers on the plans while putting them into building
context but it doesn't always make sense.
Vaya Con Dios.
