I've got to make a "family" boat first and have been debating the merits of
a 3 hole baidarka vs a canoe. Has anyone out there made a SOF canoe or
anything similar? Umiaks seem kind of barge like (from pictures I've see -
never seen one in real life) Should I scale one down/ make it narrower?
I've been stripping a kayak for the past 3 years (I was living in an
apartment for a significant portion of that time and wasn't able to work on
it) and can't say that I've enjoyed it too much so I would really prefer to
get back to SOF.
