Very little unless it goes in the right place. Notice how square the
ribs could be in the initial hulls? In particular, the King Island
hulls come to mind, that great photo of the one builder chewing the rib
to soften it at the chine bend. If you can find a way to create a
harder chine bend in the ribs behind the cockpit, you will gain a lot
of initial stability. This need not affect the beam at all. The problem
is not on the deck, it is on the chine.
