This is sort of a general answer to this thread, that I've been following
with interest; particularly in the area of epoxy working or not working. I'm
neo-old fashioned and use the polys but if you want something that sticks wood to
wood, steel to wood of steel to steel and won't forgive mistakes without
chisel work, use Brownells Acra-Glass.
As far as I know it works at minus F. 60 and F. too hot for us to consider.
It's a bedding compound for rifles and for those of you out there that have
lost control of even a small spec of the stuff, you know what I mean. It's a bit
pricey for general use but it sure do work. Sometimes way to well. You will
lose the gunwale first, your repaired joint will still be there so be aware,
flexibility is not in the program.
