If you a heavyier paddler {250lb ++} FORGET the smaller kayaks, they
wont do you no good
Im 235 and use a BK 18 {double used as single plus gear}
Now ALL BK series boats are Percy Blandford designs {UK} Thats what
Clarkcraft sells !!
They dont build the boats , they just peddle the plans
Do web search for Percy Blandford !!
The BK18 I got form Clarkcraft is his design and Im extremely happy with
it for a long distance boat
and it will carry two if need be or one plus extensive gear...
Forget Clarkcraft "updating" photos, they aint going to do it...
All Percys boats can be viewed online via a search... Dont like the
plans??? then change them to your needs
pretty easy to do.. Very detailed modifications on plans set.
Plus rigging for sail, rudder/ ect.
A 15 ft boat is way to small for you.. I know Ive had the 15 ft "Sporty"
by Folbot and even at my weight it was
small...
YOUR weight go the BK 18 , rig as single {after all its only 17 ft}
Again Clarkcraft is a middle man..... they do not stock built boats nor
can offer any help other than whats onsite
I know.. Ive called them several times over the years...
Do web search for Percys designs....
If you want a CLC boat... think of the MillCreek 16.5 rigged as a
single.... very nice....
Ive built both and have built about 30 SOF boats over the years....
Large paddlers dont have much choices.. thats just the way it is....
Do web search for BPK boats by Blandford.....its the only way you will
see what Clarkcraft has
