Can't answer your question but as I've mentioned before I built the BK10 and
the Walrus this winter. While the Walrus is only about a foot longer than
the BK 10 it paddles much easier. It also has much more primary stability I
would guess due to what Paul just discussed: the BK 10 has a more rounded
hull where the Walrus is a definite flatish v shape. Don't know about
secondary stability--haven't pushed either one that far.
Also, I've mentioned that I was going to use the BK 12 but use Tom Yost's
method for a folder. As I've used both boats more and more this summer, I'm
reconsidering because the BK 10 is so much more cluckish (is that a word?)
than the Walrus. I'm now thinking about the Walrus as a folder!
Just my uninformed opinion so take it for what it's worth.
