Highly consider the BK 20.. its more a heavy duty 1 1/2 person boat,
with room for gear.
The Sporty was small due to my size 12 shoes and cramped with only a
tent and some provisions aboard for a weekend trip.
The Explorer of the folbot line {dropped in 85} was a bigger version
of the Sporty and made for lengthy trips.
Dont forget all the gear you might need !!
Myself now I use doubles, even though I go solo most of the time..
Yes I do use a rudder for better control.
But I can load up and be gone and length of time I want.
In a sporty boat, one cant get a 12 pac cooler stored below deck..
Just cant be done..
Wide beam is a must if you are taking children aboard..
