You can order hypalon from NRS (national river supply?)for around eighty
dollars a gallon. I used a gallon on my Brink baidarka and wished I had
another quart or two. Nice thing about hypalon is you can glue on
Hypalon cloth to use as rub strip. You might be able to get hypalon from a
roofing supply place. George Dyson has it in three gallon containers, but
seemed reluctant to ship it.

After a major disaster involving way too tight skin on my last SOF
(forcing me to name her Scurvy) i'm excited to be starting my second
baidarka project. I used a twelve ounce "ballistic" nylon and a two part
poly finish. After shrinking the skin my entire keelson became kinked and
without compensation while paddling i was going around in graceful
sweeping circles. The polyurethane was pigmented and looked kind of
sloppy (my fault) but the glossy plastic look was what really got to me
in the end.So after a couple of discouraging days paddling in the waters
near Bella Coola i stripped the skin and let it stew for a few months.
Instead of massive chiropractics i've decided to rebuild.

This time around i'm going with an 8 oz nylon and am thinking of trying
a hypalon treatment. I heard of a good source of Gaco ? liquid hypalon
from a place in Duncan, British Columbia but can't seem to find a number
for the company. Can anyone tell me how to find these folks? And how much
of the stuff do i need for a 17 foot boat? And how much might i get
soaked for??

Thanks in advance. Love the list...kill your tv.
