I've completed stitching the stern half of the boat. By trying to be neat and
orderly, I've managed to get the nylon covering fairly tight. Will wetting
and shrinking already tight nylon lead to widening of the holes made during
stitching?

Also, can the overall project be left for a week or so during any one stage?
Example: covering stitched on but cockpit rim not installed, or covering
shrunk, but not treated with poly or color.

I'm taking off next week and I don't want things to shift, slacken, twist, or
whatever.
