Here's an idea for you;
Get some heavy plastic sheet and heat seal it in the form of a hollow
fin shape. Make two of these and hang them like saddle bags across the
deck of your kayak. They then serve as water reservoirs, lee boards in
case you want to use a sail or traction kite, and if shifted fore and
aft can trim the kayak against a crosswind to combat the dreaded
weathercock! They will also act as dynamic ballast since the water they
contain is weightless while submerged but as the kayak lists the side
which must be raised above waterline gets heavy and creates a restoring
force :^)
