Subject: [baidarka] gunwales stock

I have begun forming the gunwales per Morris's book. I was unable to find
perfectly clear stock. The KD pine 2 by 4 stock I found had several very small
tight knots. It appears so far that I can make all my cuts, mortises and other
shaping without going though any of these knots.
Do any of you have experience dealing with knots? Any advise?
