I don't think the difference is so great as to make any odds. According to
Morris you've to be more careful applying water-based stuff if it is to
adhere properly. I guess the presence of oil on the fabric would stop
water-based stuff from adhering in these places.
I believe in terms of brittleness the 2-part stuff is lest flexible, though
it is also most resistant to abrasion and gives the best UV protection..
I don't know if nylon is subject to UV degradation, but if so you'd be best
to use a coating that filters out UV.
