George Dyson's aluminum cross sections, have used instead 1/2" plywood
lashed/epoxied sections attached to the stringer tubes. As to Greenland
kayaks, mine are all folders, but the same process as above could be used here
also, though it would be a little more work to use wood/lashing/epoxy than to
use HDPE "snap-on" plastic cross sections. The LINK below shows an aluminum
folding Greenland kayak " Sea Rover" at the 2004 Greenland Nat'l
Championships. This boat won two first and two second place medals in rolling
and racing at the competition paddled by Mark and Becky Molina. Summertime in
Greenland. Brrrrr !
