Subject: [baidarka] Grain orientation on round ribs

I am using white oak for ribs on my baidarka. Should worry about the grain orientation when bending the ribs? Since they are round in cross section, it is difficult to tell which direction is which. With rectangular ribs, they are cut such that they are bent in the quarter sawn grain orientation.
