It looks like your rib needs to be flatter across the bottom (top in the
picture), and needs to bend sharper at the chines. A very rounded rib
profile will give you fits trying to get clearance. A good way to get
consistent bends that are sharp, is to use a pre bending jig like the one
described is Cunningham's book. I used the pre bending jig on my last two
boats and I am convinced that it is the way to go (two boats strictly by eye
before).
