What is the beam on that kayak ? That looks like a Greenland single
chine type kayak. . I'd first get the ribs put in and then work on the
chines.
It appears your stringers are too small at 0.6" square. There are
different ways to deal with that situation. One is to just make anothet
couple stringers of the right size by first testing the ideal size with
a piece of scrap. You could glue thin pieces of wood to the stringers at
each rib intersection, or you could use thick leather shims and lash
them in place when you attach the stringers. Using a deeper keelson
will help . You could make a multi-chine greenland like was done
occasionally in Greenland.
There are few rules about SOF kayak building . Keelson and stringer
dimensions do not have to be uniform throughout their entire length.
Usually they can be bigger in the middle and have some taper toward the
ends.
