Interesting item, though I am not sure what it is. I have never seen
anything quite like it. That bow piece w/ the recesses seems a bit unusual.
Also did you note the first six ribs on the front port side are broken.
(save jpg and zoom in )The lashings apear in good shape and do not show the
same ageing as the wood, leading me to believe they are poly or nylon??
would this be in keeping w/ the provenance of the kayak??
