Hello Jeppe,
As you can read in the post of the others answering today, it has been done
and is quite feasible. There are a couple of drawbacks however. To overcome
the initial resistance you need quite a powerfull paddler and second getting a
stable platform seems to be quite difficult. Third there is the point that
when you're not going fast enough to be lifting the hull out of the water
you've got these foils sticking out from under your boat. Not exactly
practical. There seems to be a very limited field of use for such a boat,
mainly in flatwater racing and certainly NOT in allround or openwater
kayaking! If you're going to try it, I'm going to wish you lots of succes,
you're probably going to need it!

Hi everybody
For half a year I have been reading your mails. It seems that a lot of you
are
dreamers.
The stange designs of the Aleuts (and the myths of their really fast boats)
seems to appeal not only to me.
And that is the reason I dare ask this forum if any of you have ever tried
putting hydrofoils on a kayak, that would sure give a lift, and thereby a
smaller wetted area. I wonder if the energy that should be used to get the
kayak up (or out) the water exceeds the the human power.
