Hi Harvey,

Where are your knees approx. in relation to the "Masik" on your replica(do
you know the Aleut word for Masik?)? Observation: What do you think about
the lower bow jaw being shaped as it is? Any theories on that? Hope you're
well-

John Petersen

Dear All,
For those interested, I have a survey drawing of my
replica of the CNM 12212 on my (new) web-page:
http://www.traditionalkayaks.com/Kayakreplicas/CNM12212.html

Again, this is the lines of my replica-- NOT the
original.

With regards to Tom's experience of stability with his
interpretation of the 12212, I have to say our
experiences are different. FWIW, I found my
interpretation to be surprisingly stable, and it sat
just fine (upright) on the water while empty. Maybe
just considerations of material weight and
distribution/buoyancy, etc.

In any case, I also found my kayak to be quite fast
and generally nothing short of remarkable.
All the best,
Harvey
