Paul:
Personally I would hesitate to paint any SOF frame. Oil the frame w/ boiled
linseed oil. The real stuff not the phony Truevalue/Trustworthy stuff w/ the
heavy metals added. I don't even do that. The skin will be long gone by the
time the frame goes anyhow. I only brush on a couple of coats of radiator
coolant (glycol) the green stuff not the pink PC stuff. The real stuff has
anti-fungal qualities that are desirable inside the boat where the frame is
in contact w/ the skin. Especially if you plan on using a cotton/canvas
skin. After the kayak is finished slosh it a couple of times a yr w/ the
stuff and it will help keep the biological growth down.
