 the length of your stroke(time/distance) spent in the water will affect
your cadence as will the speed your traveling, of course. I paddle with
folks who usually use narrower shorter Greenland paddles and I seem to have
a slower stroke for a given speed. I attribute the difference mostly to the
longer length of my paddle. If I use a sliding stroke (making my paddle
effectively longer) my cadence really slows down.
