The three components listed apear to me to be solvents. On the can it lists
them as the hazardous ingredients. From experience using the stuff it seems
to me there is a solid content as well. doing the math on the solvents that
leaves about 14% of something else in the mix.
The basic principle behind the PVC cement is that it disolves a layer of the
PVC material and bonds w/ it. If you put two layers together w/ the glue you
are effectively welding them together. In this instance the key is that it
reatin some flexibility as well. Comon plumbing grade pvc cement gets quite
brittle when hard. Though I think there are, at least here in the US
diferent grades of the houshold plumbing pvc cement some more flexible than
others. The one dyed blue seems to be the most so. Available at your Home
Depo. Might be worth a test for those of us here.

I dont know if the HH66 is anything like Bostic or Evo-stic as I have not
seeen those two before.

I did not realize Will who posted the original query was in the UK and thus
hh-66 might be hard to locate. I do believe Hendric and Gerald used a
similar product available in Germany that may be easyer to obtain there.
here is the stuff they used.

The Maroskes might be able to tell us their source for the Pattex brand
stuff they used.

all that said I used the Coverlight material to make soft deck on a hard
hull.

The HH-66 was of no use there other that to glue the Coverlight pannels to
each other. In order to glue the material to the fiberglassed wood hull I
used Aquaseal. And it seems to hold quite well. In order to glue it properly
using aquaseal a solid and constant pressure is neede while the joints cure
over night. I accomplished this with battens and lots of clamps.
