Subject: [baidarka] Stern question

I've built a few baidarkas now and have noticed that in flat water the
wake coming off the stern is greater than on a Greenland kayak. This
makes me wonder that if the Greenland stern has a visually smoother exit
with very little wake does this mean it is "better" with less drag ?
Would a baidarka type stern be better if it was just flat without a tail
? It might make paddling backwards a bit tricky but other than that
would it be of any advantage in terms of drag?
Just wonderin'
