All things being equal,I would have to imagine that the grooved paddle would
have more bite? What if there were 3,4,etc.,or more grooves? Could the
heights(or depths)of the grooves be less if there are more of them? Food for
thought or experimentation for the fool hardy like myself...

Let us know how that turns out. I haven't been able to tell yet if
there's a difference in performance or feel between the ridged and
the grooved paddles. My grooved paddle is a different width and
length from the ridged paddles, so I can't really compare them.
