I spent and afternoon recently paddling backwards so I could watch
the vortices coming off my paddles. If anything, I was more
perplexed when I was done than before I started.
Secondly, there is a difference between engineering and science.
The engineer has to produce something that works. The scientist has
to explain why it does. A good engineer is always a step or two ahead
of the science.
