Peter,

I am simply providing additional information, particularly to John Petersen,
who was discussing various grooves and hollows (including a wide "U" shaped
hollow in the blade). Also, as I noted, at least one sample that I have
observed had "hollows" running from the shoulder and continuing for the
majority of the blade length. Svend Ulstrup and I were in Greenland at the
same time, and he had an opportunity to use one of these paddles, but did
not particularly care for it. I was more fascinated with the very
sharp-edged GPs (greenland paddles) built for racing, and unfortunately did
not try Kaleraq Bech's paddle with the hollows. However, this variation of
GP is not widely known, which is why it deserves discussion here.
